ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) refers in practice to the factors that make a company sustainable through their social, environmental and good governance engagement, without neglecting the financial aspects. It took sustainability to another level by including social concerns and the responsible corporate management of environmental aspects.
Our history
We founded our company in Buenos Aires in 1999 and since then we have developed over 400 projects in 40 countries worldwide. We offer innovative, comprehensive and high added-value solutions to our customers.
Creation of AC&A, a multidisciplinary team specialized in the planning, design and comprehensive implementation of transport systems.
1999 CREATION
We conducted analysis on the implantation of new infrastructures, optimization of traffic-light systems, road capacity, pedestrian flows, etc. implementing last generation traffic simulation models.
2000 TRAFFIC MICROSIMULATION
With assignments of the IADB, the World Bank, governments and companies we worked in various countries in the Americas and Asia performing consulting and designs.
2001 FIRST INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
The engineering project to close the loop of the Premetro light rail line in the City of Buenos Aires and the central maintenance yard for the network were two of the main railway projects in Argentina.
2002 PREMETRO AND CENTRAL SUBWAY YARD
We used the latest developments and procedures to work with highway concessionaires in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires.
2004 PAVEMENT ANALYSIS SYSTEMS
We developed an advanced road inventory system that combined a high-definition video camera circuit, a high-precision differential GPS system, an analysis software and data registration and interpretation. The system was used in the road network in the province of Formosa.
2006 ROAD INVENTORY
The Federal Investment Council (CFI) hired AC&A to conduct a pre-feasibility study for the TRANSUR project (Transporte Público del Sur). This was the first time the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)/Metrobus system was considered for the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires.
2007 BRT/Metrobus SYSTEM
The project for the detailed design and supervision of the basic works and paving of a section in Provincial Road 28 in Formosa was iconic given its environmental characteristics, with its location on the wetland known as Bañado La Estrella, one of the most important biosphere reserves in the region
2008 FORMOSA AND A COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
The National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) granted a patent to the “Method for the determination of circulation patterns in transport planning and organization” developed by AC&A. This was a test of the originality and robustness of our ideas.
2008 PATENT OF INVENTION
We were hired by Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (SBASE) to develop the urbanistic project and define the language of this hub that combines subway lines B, C and D, right below the Obelisk, the landmark monument of the city. The objective was to solve a congestion problem.
2008 OBELISCO HUB
We participated in the Training Program on Planning, Regulation and Public Management of Metropolitan Urban Transport that was held between 2009 and 2010. It was a 12-month project that included 1,500 hours of lectures with 25 local lecturers and 15 international lecturers from the US, Canada and Europe.
2009 INTERNATIONAL TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS
Between 2009 and 2011, we carried out the Strategic and Technical Plan for the Expansion of the Buenos Aires Subway Network (PETERS), funded by the IDB. PETERS is the only planning effort for the Buenos Aires subway carried out with contemporary information that analyzes several alternative networks.

AC&A’s management system was certified under the international ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
2012 TRIPLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CERTIFICATIONS
The Argentine Road Association (AAC) recognized AC&A by selecting the works at Road 28 in Formosa as the “Road Work of 2012”. The AAC highlighted the complex road, water, environmental and social tasks carried out by our technical team.
2012 ROAD WORK OF THE YEAR
We developed a mobile app that allows field surveyors to record events and situations through electronic tablets connected to a central server by a mobile phone modem.
2012 ON STREET
We were hired by the Government of Uruguay to provide technical assistance in the strengthening of the country’s railway activity. We were awarded the bidding, after competing with globally recognized Spanish and Canadian companies from the railway industry.
2013 URUGUAY AND INTERNATIONAL PROJECTION
The Master Plan to recover the spaces of three rail yards in the Buenos Aires City district of Caballito won the first prize in the “National Competition for the Development of the Master Plan” launched by the Central Association of Architects of Argentina. playas ferroviarias del barrio de Caballito (CABA) obtuvo el primer premio del “Concurso nacional para el desarrollo del plan maestro” lanzado por la Sociedad Central de Arquitectos de Argentina.
2013 CABALLITO RAIL YARD
We collaborated for several years with the National Commission of Space Activities (CONAE) of Argentina in projects and works supervision related to the development of the Manuel Belgrano Space Center (Buenos Aires).
2013 SPACE ACTIVITIES
We designed the project for a comprehensive BRT system in La Matanza (Buenos Aires). The demand analysis was carried out using information from the validation of payment cards. The operational design included the restructuring of all the existing bus lines and the resizing of National Road 3 and the stations. This project was funded by the World Bank.
2014 LA MATANZA BRT
First contract to supervise the road works in one of the most important commercial highways in Haiti; this later became the supervision of the three sections in National Road 1, one of the most important public works in the country. Over time we would have an international staff in Haiti of more than 50 people of almost a dozen nationalities.
2014 THE HAITI CHALLENGE
We carried out an urbanistic project in three communities in Haiti’s North Corridor with two US companies: Gensler (architects) and HR&A (economists). The purpose was to develop urban schemes to improve living conditions in five small communities in the area.
2015 HAITI, THE EXPANSION
UNASUR (Union of South American Nations) hired AC&A to design an action plan intended to facilitate railway integration in the region and to expand and improve the participation of the multimodal freight transport system.
2016 UNASUR
We received the Road Work of the Year Award from the Argentine Road Association (AAC) for our role as project designers of the La Matanza BRT system.
2017 ROAD WORK OF THE YEAR AWARD
We signed a groundbreaking agreement with Torcuato Di Tella University in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the purpose of collaborating in public policy issues through research, teaching and dissemination.
2017 TORCUATO DI TELLA UNIVERSITY
We worked on the detailed design of architecture, structure and facilities (Engineering) in two stations (Miserere and Correo Central) and the connecting tunnel section of the “Sarmiento Regional Express Railway Network (RER)”.
2017 REGIONAL EXPRESS RAILWAY NETWORK
In conjunction with INECO from Spain, we supervised the works in Section B of the trench tunnel in the connection corridor built in the City of Buenos Aires between 2017 and 2020 (Paseo del Bajo), which became the most iconic roadwork in the city in the past decades.
2017 PASEO DEL BAJO
A new road survey area was established. It uses three advanced pieces of equipment: Road Surface Profiler 5051 Mark III, Heavy Falling Weight Deflectometer (HFWD) and Road Scan 30 Georadar.

2018 INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION
At the request of the World Bank, we created a manual on strategies for the design of public spaces in vulnerable areas. This project was developed in two phases: first, the theory, with the creation of the manual, and second, its practical application in the district known as “La Favorita” (Mendoza, Argentina).
2018 URBANISM MANUAL
We presented the report Automated vehicles: impacts on mobility systems in emerging cities. The main objective was to showcase the possible impacts of automated vehicles on the mobility of cities in Latin America.
2019 AUTOMATED VEHICLES
We developed the Intelligent Pavement Vision (IPV) software, a system for the evaluation of integrated pavements. From a video recording, it is possible to evaluate the condition of the surface, and the geometry and structure of the pavement through the application of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
2019 AI APPLIED TO INFRASTRUCTURE SURVEYING
We developed and implemented an online information system for the control and monitoring of the works that includes data, indicators and communications. The Works Dashboard provides our customers with updated information on the progress of the project.
2020 SYSTEM FOR MONITORING INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS
We opened a new international operation in El Salvador as the Project Management Office (PMO) of the most important railway project in the country. We were responsible for managing the engineering, construction and project supervision stages.
